Port of Costa Maya, Mahahual Mexico
Costa Maya is a beautiful destination
with world class port facilities. Located in the South-Eastern tip of
Mexico, Costa Maya offers an abundance of ocean and beach activities
for people of all ages. The sleepy fishing village comes to life,
bustling with activity upon the arrival of cruise ships. Costa Maya is
not a tender port so your ship will dock and you will be able to
disembark and take the trolley on the dock, to the Port.
The Port of Costa Maya offers
shopping, restaurants and a sea water swimming pool. Keep in
mind that although you could spend your entire day at the port, the
prices are much higher then in the Town of Mahahual. To truly
experience the Caribbean/Mexican flavor of this destination you need
to take the short 5 minute drive to Mahahual or partake in an
excursion or tour.
Due to Port Regulation, transport is
provided by the Port. Vans and buses are provided from the main
exit area and this is the only mode of transport currently permitted.
The price for transportation to Mahahual is $3US per person.
The Port of Costa Maya does have a
beach area but it is a rocky beach requiring aqua socks or strap on
